Our People, Our Culture, Our Nepal
When you come to Nepal, you will leave feeling like you have not just new friends, but a new family. Nepal is one of the friendliest nations you will ever visit. And the Himalayan views will capture
imagination long after you return home. This video is images of Nepal and Nepali people captured over a period of a few years. We mostly like the faces of our brothers and sisters. Nepali people are
very ethnically diverse and practice both Hinduism and Buddhism, they are Buddhist Hindus or sometimes specify that they are Nepali Hindus or Nepali Buddhists. This is to distinguish their unique religious practice which incorporates the beliefs of both religions. As a general rule of thumb though, you will find the lowland, jungle areas of Nepal practicing mostly Hindu traditions and the highland Himalayan regions practicing Tibetan Buddhism. In Kathmandu, it’s anything goes — everybody celebrated everything, including Christmas, Easter and Eid. To better understand our culture, take a Kathmandu City tour upon arrival or after trekking in Nepal. You will visit many ancient temples and historical sites. Om and namaste!
