On this tour, we will be visiting:
Chitwan National Park (Jungle Safari)
Lumbini – Birthplace of the Lord Buddha
Pokhara – Nepal’s most famous resort town
Annapurna Himalaya Region – trekking
The Chitwan National Park holds a place of pride in the world heritage side. It lies in the Tarai region of southern Nepal and is reputed to be Nepal’s first national park, and the best managed national park in Asia.
The national park covers an area of 932 sq km with tropical forest consisting of grass lands, rivers, and forests. The park hosts 56 different kinds of mammals, including the royal Bengal tiger, great one horned rhinoceros, Asian elephant, and sloth bear. It also has 562 different species of birds.
Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It is situated 230 km away from Kathmandu in the Rupendehi District of Southern Terai (lowland, at an altitude of 600 ft above sea level). Lumbini has many new monasteries occupied by different nations, such as the China temple, which is a very beautiful pagoda styled temple with many prayer and meditation cells.
From Lumbini we travel to the resort town of Pokhara, where we will have some time for sight-seeing before heading off for the a one week trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The Poon Hill Trek is one of Nepal’s most loved short treks. Splendid views, friendly locals, and moderate hiking make the Poon Hill trek good for almost anyone. This is a great Nepal tour for families!
