Description

Want to see the best of Nepal in a short time? This trek is for you!

Poon Hill trek starts in the heart of Nepal – Pokhara – the countries most beautiful resort town.  If you only have a week to experience Nepal, Poon Hill Trek is perfect for you.  If you land in Kathmandu, you will need to take a local bus or hire a car to Pokhara (we can arrange this for you); then from there you will spend the evening enjoying this beautiful town and its famous Phewa Tal (Lake), international restaurants, and lively local nightlife.  If you miss something, don’t worry, your Poon Hill Trek will end here as well, so you have time for some more enjoyment.  After a night in Pokhara, on a clear day you will wake up to see a breath-taking panorama of the Himalayas – and that’s where you are headed!

Your guide meets you in your hotel lobby, and with one last check of your trekking gear, you head into the wild and to Himalayan altitude trekking.  Be prepared to walk up, up, up as you rise over mountains to views of the Annapurnas, Machpuchare, and Daulugiri.   You will want to have your camera ready!  Especially in the springtime when the rhododendron (Nepal’s national flower) are in full bloom.

Trek to Four Villages – Get Full Himalayan Views and “Real” Nepal Experience

Along this trek, you will over night in teahouses at four different villages.  Teahouses are locally owned family businesses where villagers offer room and meals to trekkers.  This is much different than staying in a hotel.  You get to know the people of the village, chat by the fire, and experience the culture of each place.  On this trek you will go through Gurung and Magar villages. You will see the varying traditions and dress of the distinct cultures of Nepal.
