How do you Volunteer in Nepal?
Have you ever wanted to travel with a
purpose? Are you a student or someone
interested in the Medical Field?
— Check out this great Medical Volunteer Opportunity hosted by Trekt Himalaya…
Medical Trek Nepal is unique trekking experience where you volunteer in medical camps in remote regions of Nepal. Most of our volunteers for this trek are medical professionals and medical students. However, we welcome spouses and friends who are non-medical to help in
our camps on this trek.
The overall goal of this trek is not only to ensure that people in remote
villages of Nepal are getting the medical care they need, but to schedule our treks and free medical camps in a way that fosters growth and sustainability.
You make lifetime friends!
You experience Nepali culture!
You learn more than you think you will!
Serving as a medical volunteer is absolutely one of the noblest acts around. It will not only just let you help in healing their pain, but also empathize with the conditions they’re living in.
Help us, Help Nepal.
Most Common Question About Volunteering
What is included in the trekking fee?
Why is there a fee for volunteering?
Do you accept non-medical volunteers?
What medical supplies do I need for Medical Trek Nepal?
Now, these questions are great to ask! Traveling abroad to an unknown country can put you on your toes, however, the experience you will receive will be one of the best you’ve ever had.
The $1775 trekking fee covers the cost of quite a few things. It includes the cost of most of your meals, hotels, and transportation. It also pays for the amazing guides that lead you on your treks, the chefs that cook your food and the team (nurses & porters) of representatives that guide you through this experience.
Some ask “why is there a fee if this is volunteer?” The price is based on the price of a camping trek in Nepal. The proceeds go to the villages we serve. If you are unsure, just check around for Nepal camping treks to compare. The advantage here, is that you get to live and work with local villagers and be part of their community.
Not A Medical Professional? That’s OK!
Non-Medical Volunteers are very welcome on our Medical Trek; they help a lot with set up, take down and organization! You’ll also be able to help with registration, medical camp setup, and crowd control. You are just as important on this trek as medical professionals are. If you are a
Medical Professional such as doctors, nurses, and EMTs, we ask that you bring their own BP cuff and stethoscope. Beyond that, you do not need anything. Medical Trek Nepal supplies all medicines and equipments needed for this trek.
