Join Fitness Trek Nepal! You get a 17 day life changing challenge that starts with your guided fitness training before you leave your home country.
Then, arrive in Nepal to meet your local fitness guides! We spend a day acclimating in Kathmandu, and preparing for trekking up, up, up for the next 2 weeks as you climb high into the mystical regions of the Himalaya on the Annapurna Circuit route.
After 21 days of trekking and fitness you will be toned, healthy, and FIT! And you will have shaped up in a fun way, while hiking through one of the most exotic, and spiritual places in the world! Don’t just trek – Fitness Trek! Spend a “Fitcation” with Trekt Himalaya!
Your local guide and a fitness trainer will accompany you on one of Nepal’s most beautiful treks to the Annapurna region.
Each day we will begin with our morning workout and yoga, followed by a healthy breakfast, and then a full day (5-6 hours) of trekking through the world’s best mountain vistas and ancient Himalayan villages.
Evenings filled with a fun as recount the day with your fellow fitness trekkers, and a healthy meal at a traditional teahouse.
This trek takes you over the famous Thorong-La pass, so bring your prayer flags!
Education Experience: You will learn to eat healthy, tone specific muscle groups, focus on breathing, meditation and yoga techniques… Oh, and did we mention, all this while joining in one of the world’s most breathtakingly beautiful treks?! Best Time for Fitness Trekking: Summer (March – October) $1850
*This trek is limited and we can only guarantee your place once we secure your trekking permit which ensures entry to Upper Mustang. Please book as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate last minute bookings.
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu
You will be met with a joyful “namaste” by our guides at Kathmandu airport. They will show our office, and help you get checked into your hotel in the Kathmandu’s tourist district of Thamel. There are plenty of restaurants and shops for you to explore for the afternoon/evening.
Day 02 : Kathmandu-Pokhara
Trekkers meet at our office at 7am for trek departure. We travel by bus/mini-van to Pokhara. You will have a chance to enjoy the splendors of Nepal’s most beautiful resort town, Pokhara. Enjoy an evening at the restaurants and outdoor café’s of Lakeside (Phewa Tal), but don’t eat too much – this is a fitness trek!
Day 03 : Pokhara – Bhulbhule 2750ft/840m
After your morning workout (arms and abs) and light yoga, we head to Besisahar where we start our first of 14 days of trekking! This is a warm up trek. You will trek just 3-4 hours to Bhulbhule where we will enjoy the evening. Optional mindfulness meditation as the sunsets. Overnight and healthy meals in teahouse.
Workout muscle groups: triceps, abs, gluts, quads.
Day 04 : Bhulbhule – Jagat (1300m)
Today we hike down, down, down as we into the valley near Syange and cross one of Nepal’s famous suspension over the aqua marine colored mighty Marsyangdi river. The scenery in this region is breath-taking. But take a moment to stop and “breathe” in this beautiful nature. We end at the unique stone village of Jagat.
Workout muscle groups: triceps, abs, gluts, quads.
Day 05 : Jagat – Tal (1700m)
This day begins with a trek along a rocky trail that follows the mighty Marsyangdi river. Then we trek into the district of Manang before end our 5-6 trekking day in Tal.
Day 06 : Tal – Dharapani (1860m)
Our journey today takes us to a village founded by ancient. Today we will do both up and down hiking for 5-6 hours before we find the stone Chorten that marks the entrance to Dharapani.
Day 07 : Darapani – Chame (2670m)
This is called the long high day as we trek northward to Chame. This is one of the longest trekking days at 7 hours as we start our 4 days to the high region toward Multinath. REWARD – There are hot springs at Chame! This is the right
Day 08: Chame to Pisang (3100 m)
Up Until Bhartang the walk is pleasant but after Bhartang, the valley is steep and narrow and the trail goes through deep forest. You may view Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, Himal Chuli and Ngadi Chuli. The trek is reasonably level as it heads into the upper part of the Manang Valley, eventually reaching the entrance to Pisang. Overnight at Pisang.
Day 09: Pisang to Manang (3540 m)
After crossing a swathe of flat landscapes, trek to the upper portion of the Manang district that has about 5000 inhabitants in six major villages. Then across a stream and overnight at Manang.
Day 10: Acclimatization day in Manang
Explore Manang while you acclimatize to the increased altitude.
Day 11: Manang to Yak Kharka (4100 m)
From Manang village, you can take the trekking trail to relaxing town of Yak Kharka in preparation to ascend the Throng La High Pass in the very early morning.
Day 12: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450 m)
Why is it called Yak Kharka? We depart from the old yak trading outpost of Yak Karka before we start our way up to Thorong Pedi. By now you will be seeing and feeling the results of your fitness trek. We take it easy in the evening and prepare ourselves for one of our toughest days – getting over Thorong-La.
Day 13: Thorung Phedi – Thorong La Pass (5416 m) – Muktinath (3802 m)
This morning we wake up very early in order to make the arduous journey of passing the Thorung La High Pass. This is important in order to avoid the strong winds that can occur. The trail becomes steep immediately after leaving the Thorong Phedi, but as you cross, you will experience magnificent views of the Himalayas. In about four hours, you will cross the High Pass and make a final descent to Muktinath. It is a pleasant walk along the upper part of Jhong Khola. You will stay at Muktinath for the night.
Day 14: Muktinath to Marpha via Jomsom (2725 m)
Muktinath is the home of the Muktinath temple and several other monasteries and is a sacred site to both Hindus and Buddhists. After visiting this temples and monasteries, we will descend down to Kagbeni that looks like a town straight out of an unknown medieval past with closely packed mud houses, dark tunnels & alleyways then further descend down to Marpha and overnight.
Day 15: Marpha – Ghasa (2500 m)
Marpha is the home of many apple orchids with apple brandy and apple pie being a famous local specialty. If you wish, you may indulge in both of them. Descend down and overnight at Ghasa.
Day 16: Ghasa to Tatopani (1189m)
We further descend down to the valley of Kali Kandaki. A dramatic change occurs in the vegetation and landscapes. We stop at Tatopani, which translates as ‘Hot Water’ and you may enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating soak in them in preparation of staying overnight there.
Day 17: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2750m)
Leaving behind Tatopani, we ascend again climbing to the Ghorepani and staying overnight there.
Day 18: Ghorepani to Tadopani (2520m)
Early in the morning, we hike to Poon Hill (3210m) for the best sunrise view over the high Himalayas. One may witness the sunrise of a lifetime with over more than 30 snow peaks in easy view. Then walk down to Ghorepani for breakfast and we will walk towards Tadapani and overnight
Day 19/20: Tadopani – Ghandruk (1910m)
We will finally descend down to a charming and prosperous village and stay overnight there.
Day 20: Ghandruk – Naya Pool- Pokhara
We descend down to Naya Pool and drive to Pokhara. End of Trekking. Evening celebration of the “new you!”
Hotel overnight in PKH.
(Trek may end on day 19 if pace is faster.)
Day 21: Back to Kathmandu. Farewell to your guides and yogi and new friends. Or check another TREKT Himalaya adventure!
